Dubai a formula one team?

Okay...bad joke, but it looks like it's going to happen, although they aren't going to buy a team they are going to start from scratch.

BBC Sport are reporting that they are going to build a team for 2006.

This means testing facilities, including a wind tunnel, in Dubai and locating the manufacturing in the UK (good choice). Looks like they'll be starting up at the same time as the Russian team. (Yes, more scope for jokes!) You can check out that story at my previous entry.

All this sounds really promising for F1, especially the fact that two countries with a lot of desire and money (probably desire from Russia and money from Dubai) want to enter the sport when figures for audiences are falling. New blood is required fast, and not just that but new rules!
