The Movie Blog - Downtime

Monday 23 May 2005 | Written by Richard Brunton | Movies | Comments (4)

Once again, not sure how many people from The Movie Blog will read this, but it's the only way to get out a message at the moment.

During a rework of the site yesterday, which almost completed, the Hosting Company locked us out of the site. No clear reason why, and an embarassing message posted in its place. Obviously all the bills have been paid, we're totally unsure why this has happened.

Despite over five hours of John trying to get support yesterday the site still isn't up, and when I got up this morning (seven hours after that) the site still isn't available. John's in bed now, so I'm chasing it up to see where we are. I really do hope we get it back today.

Updates as they happen, or mail either of us through the john or richard @themovieblog.com.

Many thanks if you're bearing with us, we hope you do.

Update: 11:56: The hosting company has shut down access to the site for taking 10% of resources during a certain period. I think they've really battened down the processing time since our previous downtime with them through a DDoS on their entire company.

Support took around 16 hours to respond! This is getting a huge write up as soon as we've moved hosts, which I can tell you is going to be started as soon as we get the site back.

Apologies to all. We will be back.

Update: 17:09: We're finally back, and in the process of downloading the site. Looks like we'll be moving promptly. Check The Movie Blog for updates.

I hope the site comes back up soon and that none of our posts have been wiped out.

No wonder I wasn’t feeling quite right today, I have missed my TMB daily dose! :-)

It looks like I have to be here more often on your blog now Rich! Hang in there guys!

So Vic, did they actually? ;-)

I am still trying to get used to the new style, I am glad they retained the RED banner.

Hi there Matt! Nice to see all my fave guys here. *winks*
