Ford Zetec shows MP3 player connectivity, not iPod

Saturday 10 March 2007 | Written by Richard Brunton | Adverts | Comments (0)

I noticed something that's very clever about the latest Ford advert, I think it's specifically for their Zetec.

They advertise the car with MP3 connectivity, so that you can hook up your player to the car and listen to your music, and they show a Sony NW-A3000 player, not the iPod. They also make the clear distinction that it connects to MP3 players as standard, it doesn't just say iPod's - which is just like saying Hoovers over Vacuums.

I like that. It says something about the campaign as well, and perhaps they are hoping to make people see that this connects to any MP3 player rather than just the obligitory iPod.
