Brewers Fayre - Portlethen
Thursday 31 March 2005 | Eating Out - 3 Stars | Comments (2)
If you have children this place is great, situated just across the bypass from Portlethen it features a pretty standard pub menu and is very child friendly, there's a good kids menu too, filled with all the bad stuff kids like!
Tables are big, there's loads of space around and a segregated smoking area, although quite frankly there shouldn't be one at all around kids. There's even a large play area to let the kids loose in before and after the meal.
The play area has Playstations, coin operated toy grabbing machines (and unlike the carnivals they do actually allow you to grab and win toys - my nephew won three!) and a huge enclosed activity pen which allows for kids to climb , roll down chutes, all in a closed, netted and very safe environment.
The food is not spectacular, but it's good pub grub at decent prices, and the service is quick. The kids will have a great time, especially if after their exercise and meal you let them loose on the ice cream machine!

I have eaten there 3-5 times and although the food is ok the portions are very very small we complained about this on their website and never even got a reply ! On one occasion we went straight to a take away after eating a 2 course meal there. You have been warned !

Wow, I have to disagree with that, I could never manage anything after eating two courses there!
